It pleases Us to see our numbers growing,
the old releasing duties to the young;
the coming generation warms the going,
and each does deeds that by the next are sung:
it’s this, not chirping birds or buds with dew
that makes Us feel the earth again is new,
and if we meld the new with what has been,
then we will be in our best days again.

Thus, Kasha and Ermenrich, We who view
this Tower White, dear Eidy, give to you
for services whose value well We ken
this Elephantine Heart with thanks times ten.

Let none countermand Our words.
